Koh Samui
This trip was really unplanned as it was the sudden decision to celebrate my wife's birthday :) at Koh Samui. All reservations were made 24 hours prior to the departure.
Day 1
We checked in at Skypark about 11.30am. Journey to Koh Samui took about two hours from Subang airport. Main carrier such as Fireflyz and Berjaya Air operates from Subang. Fireflyz flies to Koh Samui daily.
We landed right at 2.30pm local time. Timing in Koh Samui is one hour behind Malaysia's time. The weather was good. Sunny and bright! Koh Samui international airport is unique. It has the resort type architecture, and you will surely have the feeling of "on vacation" once you there.
Gurich Samui at Lamai Beach. The beach front hotel is located about 25 minutes away from the airport. This was where we stayed for four days in Koh Samui. The hotel is about one year old. We picked the room with swimming pool. :)
It's now time for our first meal in Koh Samui. Cha Restaurant is located at the beach front of the hotel. We ordered tom yam gung, sweet and sour chicken, mix vegetables, steam rice and coconut drinks. Oh boy! The food was good, especially the tom yam gung!
The location and the view that we got when we were sitting at the restaurant, just magnificent. We viewed the pool, bar and the sea. Come to our surprised that there was a deck lead to the middle of the sea. The good things that we can catch our sunset here.
At night, we were invited for a ceremony held by the hotel. It was about lighting up and letting go of the "tang lung" to the air. There was also a performance by their singer. After that, we head straight to the pool where they displayed a giant screen cinema. Awesome. They played "Transformers 2" that night. :)
Day 2
Second day was all about islands hoping. We woke up early and had a breakfast at the hotel.
The pickup came in the morning and straight away to the pier. It took about 30 minutes as the driver stopped at few other places to pick up other passengers along the way.
As we arrived at the pier, the speedboat all set for it. About 28 passengers hop in and we were lucky for having a front seat of the boat.
The islands that we went and visited is Ang Thong Marine Park, Koh Lim, Koh Sam Sao, and finally Koh Wua Te. One thing for sure is that the islands are beautiful, just like in the postcards.
The speedboat took about fourty five minutes to reach our first snorkeling point. Fishes are everywhere!
Next stop was "Mu Koh",the blue water lagoon. We are required to hike up the stiff stairs to reach to the top point, and required to walk down again to the surface of the lake. Fuhh! What an exercise. There are also a small shop selling junk foods and drinks. Well, that helps a lot.
Lunch time! We stopped at the small fisherman village about 15 minutes boat ride from the last point. In this trip, lunch is provided. The food served was simple but very tasty!
We had a chanced to walk around the small island before heading out for our last stop for relaxing, swimming, and kayaking.
At night time, we took a cab for our dinner at Lamai street market.
Day 4
Time to leave Koh samui :(.

Day 3
Day three was about self pampering and relaxing. We went to the spa, lunch, walked along Chaweng street, spa again, and finally in the evening we took a "tut-tut" back to the hotel. :)
The things about Chaweng, everything is nearby. Beach, hotels, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, spas, etc. We might opt to stay here next trip.
One thing I realized that traveling from one destination to another was a bit expensive here. Imagine traveling for less than 6 kilometers cost about THB300.00. But we really had a nice ride. Namely, Toyota Altis, Toyota Harrier, Toyota Camry, Nissan Silphy etc. Boy the ride way super comfortable compares to our Malaysia's taxi (Proton Iswara, Proton Saga, and even Proton Waja). Any other method is travelling by 'tut-tut". Cost us only THB 50.00 per person. :)
The other alternative, rent a motorbike. It cost from THB 20.00 to THB 40.00 per day.
Time to leave Koh samui :(.
Like I mentioned earlier, Koh Samui has this resort like airport. Cool... Very cool. can't wait to return back!
